Music is intrinsic in the very nature of humans. The small
infant will frequently act in response to a rhythmic sound, starting to hum
even before communication. Beat and music flourish in nature all just
about us – the rhythmic pulsation of the surf, the precise meter of rain, the
winds, the melodic harmonies of song birds.
Music is in all of us,
as well. It’s a capability inherent in each and every child, simply
in anticipation of development. Unhappily some children may not
at all know the joys of producing their own music, investigating their
innate abilities, or noticing the joys of this self appearance. For most
children, that chance comes but some time ago. To be starved of that
opportunity is to surrender this natural means of self appearance.
