Thousand people are expected for Meredith Music Festival

TWELVE-and-a-half thousand people will go down on Meredith today, braving the weekend’s stormy weather forecast for the 21st annual Meredith Music Festival.

The Meredith Music Festival is a three-day outdoor music festival held every December at the Supernatural Amphitheatre a natural amphitheatre located on private farmland near the town of Meredith in Victoria, Australia.

Gates open this morning at 9am, with Melbourne band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard kicking things off on stage from 4pm, followed by sets from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Ladyhawke and Explosions in the Sky.

On Saturday, Grinderman, Icehouse, Mudhoney and Cut/Copy will entertain festival-goers, ahead of a total lunar eclipse expected about 12.45am.
This year marks the festival’s 21st birthday. A possible thunderstorm is forecast for today, with showers and up to 10mm of rain expected on Saturday. Rain is also forecast for Sunday.
