The music festival Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards was celebrated for a week from 9-12 September 2011. Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities (HECFI), the City Of Hamilton and Tourism joined the celebration of Canadian Country Artists.
The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) was founded in 1976 as the Academy of Country Music Entertainment to organize, promote and develop a Canadian country music industry. The association changed its name to the Canadian Country Music Association in 1987.
The highlight performance of CCMA Awards was from Luke Bryan, who teamed up with Doc Walker to performtheir own songs called ‘Country Girl’. The 36-year-old former sawmill worker took home three trophies: winning album of the year, single of the year and songwriter of the year for his sophomore album Trail in Life.
