Does really music reduces stress ?


Yes, it is true. We have all heard the saying, “Music calms the savage beast.” Listening to music can have an extremely relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, particularly slow, quiet classical music. This type of music can have a valuable effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulsation and heart rate, subordinate blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones.

As music can attract our attention, it acts as a disruption at the same time it helps to explore emotions. This means it can be a great support to meditation, helping to prevent the mind drifting.

When you feel much stressed, there is a tendency to shun actively listening to music. Perhaps it feels like a waste of time, not helping to achieve anything. But since we know, production increases when stress is reduced, hence this is another area where you can gain enormous rewards.

Singing (or shouting) all along can also be a great release of tension! Calming music prior to bedtime promotes peace and relaxation and assists to persuade sleep.

Too often, those of us missing Peak Performance - suffering from sadness, tiredness and stress - overlook many of the normal ways human evolution has provided, to gather balance and harmony. The simple fact is, in music, we can find the accurate remedy, the exact motivation and at the same time stress-relieving pleasure.
